After visiting The Bridge of Kwai we took the train on the Death Railway towards Bangkok. The Railway is also known as the Burma Railway, the Siam–Burma Railway or the Thai–Burma Railway. It was a 415 kilometer railway between Ban Pong, Thailand, and Thanbyuzayat, Burma. Now it only operates between Nong Pla Duk and Nam Tok.
The highlight of the tour is for sure the drive over the wooden bridge of the Death Railway. Which is in fact an interesting construction and all tourist were hanging out of the window in order to get the best photo.
After we crossed the bridge we stayed in the train for 30 more minutes to enjoy the view to the farmlands, forest and nature. As well as the lowness of riding a local train. The train itself is simple and no luxury should be expected but this was making out the charm of the ride itself. In order not to drive the whole way back with the train, our driver fetched us on a train station to bring us back to our hotel.
