After two days in St. Lucia, where we took a boat tour to see the Hippos and visited the iSimangaliso Wetlands Game Reserve, we drove further to Swaziland. Our day started at 5 am, in order to drive over the Hluhluwe–iMfolozi Park. The complete drive with border crossing took us 7 hours, which sadly did not leave us much time for exploring Swaziland itself.
We stayed in a guesthouse near Mbabane which was in the middle of a pineapple plantation. In order to see something we decided to go to a local Handcraft Market, where we shopped for handcrafted wood work and had a nice coffee. The day we ended with some African wine in the restaurant Malandela’s.
The next morning we began with a typical Irish breakfast – as usual. And finally started our journey to the Kruger National Park. Even that we saw already a few animals in the iSimangaliso Wetlands Game Reserve and the iMfolozie/Hluhluwe Game Reserve we had no ideas how much more animals we would see over the next four days in the Kruger National Park.
