After enjoying the first days in Kathmandu, todays goal was to visit the Boudhanath. It is one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the worlds and it is just outside of Kathmandu. The height is 36 meters, which makes it really impressive to stand in front of. This whole place had for me a special feeling, as there are many monks around and lots of prayer flags.
The visit of the Stupa is completely worth a half day trip, which can be ended with an amazing lunch on a rooftop restaurant. The tour is mostly combined with a trip to the Pashupatinath Temple. Which in general is an aura place but the day we visit there was a special festival going on. At the festival several animals were sacrificed and there was a lot of blood. For me this was a experience I would have been happy to miss.
