Our first day on Madeira, we started at 3 pm with the incredible hike at the Peninsula of São Lourenço. After our short flight on the island, we wanted to start directly in our 10 days hiking adventure. The flight approach to the island was already existing, as the runway is short and directly at the coast line. After a short 20 minutes car ride, we arrived at São Lourenço and were able to start our hiking on the island.

Length: ~8 km
Time: ~ 2 – 3 hours
Good to know: hike start and end at the parking slot. Can be done as a half day trip.
Where to park: car park of Ponta de São Lourenço, at the end of the street
Tip: can be done at the first or last day of the visit. Easy hike with amazing view’s.
Cost: none
Personal opinion: Beautiful view’s on this easy hike. Can also be done with kids. It is worth to go until the end of the peninsula to the Ponta do Furado.
