Tip: a river crossing is needed in order to get to the Àlftavatn hut. In case you have energy left, it is possible to explore the area around the lake in the afternoon.

Cost: camping fee´ s can be paid in the hut with credit card.

Personal Opinion: at the pike of the hike there is an amazing view on the Àlftavatn lake. Take some time and do your lunch there. It looked like Tolkien stand directly there when being inspired to write “Lord of the rings“.
