Tip: 1.5 km away from the Hrafntinnusker camp are ice caves. Try to camp in one of the stone circle, weather can be really windy at night. The camp is next to an ice field, for that it will be freezing at night. Be prepared in case of camping.

Personal Opinion: the hike over the black lava field Laugahraun was the perfect start into the hike.
