Chile: Starting our new Patagonia Adventure

Our new Patagonia Adventure started with yet another dream flight over the Andes. There are two possibilities to get an amazing view over the Andes when flying to Chile. The first possibility is when flying into Santiago de Chile, which are mainly the last 30 minutes before landing and the second is when flying from Santiago de Chile to Puerto Montt, which is the whole time in good weather conditions.

As we saw only a few things in Patagonia during our first visit in 2015, we decided this time to spend 3 weeks in Patagonia itself. Splitting the time between Chile and Argentina, while driving on the Carretera Austral (Chile), as well on the NR40 and hiking in the dream destinations of Argentina.

The 3 weeks trip covered the following: Our start in Puerto Varas, the Switzerland of Argentina: Bariloche, the hidden gem Lago Puelo, the river rafting paradise in Futaleufú, the hanging glacier of Puyuhuapi, Coyhaique, driving through the Cerro Castillo Natural Reserve, Lago General Carrera more than the marble caves, the hidden gem Lago Posadas, the hiking heaven of El Chaltén, a glacier to fall in love with in El Calafate and the hiking paradise of the Torres del Paine Nationalpark.
