The Perito Moreno Glacier is a glacier located in the Los Glaciares National Park, a one and half hour drive away from El Calafate. Due to the nice view at the Lago Argentino the drive will take around two or two and a half hours for all the photo stops. Plan in a full day trip in order to get to the park and explore it.
How to get there: there are two options for driving. The fast way over the 11 along the Lago Argentino or the off road way over the 15 and 60.
Tips: we drove on the 11 on the way to the park and took the 15 and 60 on the way back to El Calafate.

Personal opinion: The park is amazing and standing in front of the Glacier just let you realize how small you are. There are several hiking options available. First for sure at the Glacier itself, you can hike several ways in order to get close. Second you can hike from the lower car park to the beginning of the Glacier hike. Besides that there are a few other areas in the park where you can park and just hike around a bit to get another angle on the Glacier.
